Maruti launches Swift

Maruti Udyog Ltd (NSE: MARUTI, EQ), India's largest car company today launched its much-talked about car "Swift" in India. Priced at INR 387,024 (1 USD = 43.51 INR) for LXi model at ex-showroom Delhi, the hatchback car has been launched in three models and has many firsts to its credit like, Dual Front Airbags, Antilock Braking (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Automatic Climate Control. The highest version Swift VXi (ABS) has been priced at INR 425,040/- ex-showroom Delhi.

Swift, which was showcased by Suzuki Corporation in the Paris Motor show last year, will be competing with Korean carmakers Hyuandi's Getz, Ford's Fusion and India's indigenous carmaker Tata Motors' Indigo & Indica Marina in its category.

Maurti Udyog share on NSE closed at 460.30 up 2.25% from previous close while overall NSE index was up by 0.72% from previous close.
