Haryana to have seventh IIM??

Speaking at youth festival, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana announced that Haryana would soon have an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) as he had already sought informal approval from HRD Ministry.

If approved this will be 7th IIM in the country and second in north India. As of now there are six IIMs located at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Kozikode and Indore.

Incidentally Haryana though a prosperous state does not figure very high on the education map of India though its capital Chandigarh which is also a union territory has some renowned educational institute including University Business School, Chandigarh.

This news will cheer up CAT aspirants as seventh IIM will mean more seats open for aspirants as CAT is one of the toughest exams in the world with more than 150,000 students vying for some 1500 seats in six IIMs.
