Manjunath murder : All accused pronounced guilty

Lakhimpur District Court has held all eight accused in Manjunath murder case as guilty. The judgment on quantum of sentence will be pronounced on 26th March.

The verdict on the November 19, 2005 murder of the IIM-Lucknow graduate was delivered by District Judge S M Abidi.

Manjunath murder evoked a strong reaction across the country among IIM fraternity and social organizations. The case was pursued by Manjunath Shanmugam Trust which was set up by IIM fraternity to pursue this case and give justice to Manjunath.

The fast verdict is a victory to the trust as it has fought vigorously and pursued the case and pushed for a fast track trail resulting in a verdict in less than 24 months while in another high profile murder case of IITian Satyendra Nath Dubey, even charges are yet to be framed despite heavy media attention and involvement of CBI.
