Acting tough on IIMs, Govt has asked IIMs to delay admission process till Supreme Court hears the quota stay issue on April 23.
Earlier IIMs ( Ahmedabad & Bangalore) have decided to go ahead with the admission process with announcement of results on 21st April without or without OBC quota depending upon the scenario as on that date.
A meeting between the directors of all six IIMs scheduled for Friday has also been called off after the Government issued the notification late on Thursday.
IIMs which have emerged as a center of excellence in the world due to quality of its education have been in middle of one or another controversy with various Govts. Earlier BJP led Govt wish to curb its autonomy via fixing fee issues and now Congress led Govt is trying to apply quota system and to put a brake on meritocracy based system.

f%##@$%@# the government!!!! Arjun Singh is acting like a child clinging on to the last straw. Its all bloody politics and the fate of students like us may go to hell for them. Lets do a thing. Put the results on whold for the whole year.. Have no CAT the next. Just a nationwide debate on whether the OBC quota is right or not. Fight it out. Satisfy our egos. Win all the votes we want. Let these institutions go down the drain, all processes go haywire.
Why not, we are a nation more concerned about why 2 oldies have been dropped in the Indian Cricket team, which sadly never performs or what Aishwarya is wearing in th wedding of the Century. But to a matter of such national importance mention hardly any news. For the students who slug it out in this shit-hole, who if provided a little more respect and better conditions may actually turn the face of this country, to those we give a damn.
For in a couple of days with the results out, quota or no quota these very students will forget everything and go ahead with their own lives..
Please please please, let us rise from these petty issues.. Please let us become more responsible people..
Please let the results come out……
India wil go to the dogs in 5 years if this scenario continues. Most of the polititians are uneducated bunch but playing with the top ranking institutes like IIM’s and IIT’s.Only if these illeterates are pushed out of Indian politics, there is atleast some scope of India becoming a developed country. These persons act as though they are working for the country but are chasing empty fame and trying to become famous in one way or other.Seriously wondering what these people know about management or technology to participate in these type of decision which is very critical.Infact the supreme court and the members of the board shouldn consider any opinion of these parasites and continue with the announcement of results as early as possible.but one thing is sure,if Indian politics remains like this Abdul Kalam’s dream of “Golden India in 2020″ wont be realised even in 2220.
Does Arjun Singh even knows what goes in preparing and clearing an exam like CAT,JEE or medical entrance exam? It is very easy for him to advocate for so called weaker sections of the society and to give them quota as they didnt have equal facilities. He never talked about giving them primary education, health facilities but yeah we can remove all ills by making them engineers and doctors. In our constitution equality for all is mentioned.I wonder what happened to it…now 49.5% of seats are reserved, is that what we mean by equality? And then we talk about brain drain, isn’t it funny? When Nehru proposed the quota, even he was of the view that all the quotas should be there for a specified time. Even now the Supreme Court has said that the quotas should be revised every five years.I just pray that there are more education opportunities for those unfortunate enough for not being born in an OBC family.May better sense prevail on politicians.
